Frequently Asked Questions
Q. What should I wear?
A. Wear something that makes you feel comfortable, confident, and expresses your style! Casual all the way to formal styles look great in pictures. It’s usually best to not completely match but to coordinate general color schemes, throwing in some pops of color. I would definitely suggest against wearing all-matching outfits (for example, jeans and white shirts, unless you really like that look of course!) Coordination and a pleasing color palette, not matching, is the key!
Q. Where should we take the photos?
A. Add personality to your photos by choosing the location of your session! Whether it’s the local coffee shop, nature park or other special spot, let us know if there is a place that is important to you. However, I do have suggestions for great locations! Think about what is meaningful to you or your family and what describes you: it could be your house or a special spot somewhere, a “classic” photo shoot spot like the beach or a more unique and unconventional one. I love simplicity in portraits where the heart of the photographed one can really come through and sometimes less is more in backgrounds.
Q. What time of day do you like to shoot your sessions?
A. I favor the early morning and late afternoon for shooting most types of images. Good lighting is such an integral part of photography and although photo sessions can take place at other times of day, I would recommend scheduling your session around one of these times of day for the most amazing light in your photos.
Q. What other products do you offer?
A. We offer photo prints, canvases, metal prints, photo books and high quality photo albums, gallery wraps, and custom photo cards/invitations/announcements. Prints are printed on high quality, professional Kodak Endura lustre paper and can be mounted at your request.
Q. We have some pose ideas we’d really like to get. Is that possible?
A. Absolutely! Although I don’t want you to have to worry about anything and always have plenty of ideas, I’d love to help incorporate any ideas that you may have into your special day! We can even share ideas over a Pinterest board.
Q. Do I have to order prints through you?
A. I highly recommend ordering prints through our professional vendors, but it is not required. The difference in quality is huge when it comes to ordering through a professional lab, so I encourage clients to let us help with prints!
Q. What kind of equipment do you use?
A. I use Nikon equipment. My favorite lens is my trusty 70-200mm f/2.8 lens.
Q. How far in advance should we do our engagement photo session?
A: Although it’s entirely up to you, I would recommend doing your engagement photo shoot at least one month before you plan to send out Save the Date cards if you would like to use the pictures on them.
Q. Do you travel for wedding photography?
A. Yes! We absolutely love destination weddings!! Send us more information on your travel plans, and we will create a custom wedding collection to suit your needs.
